The Great Bank Robbery

It's hard to slow our class down!

Here's the second in our movie series, this time produced by students from Reading Group 3.

Great acting team!  You all got right into your characters and used your bodies and voices effectively to bring your character to life!

Thanks once again to Mrs Thomas the tank engine who directed, filmed and edited this one.

Great song choices!

Communication Breakdown!

Last term our reading group 4 made a movie based on a school journal play called 'Communication Breakdown'.  The children worked on the play for 5 weeks before filming with their director Mandy Thomas.  Thank you Mandy!
Special thanks go to Jacob Thomas for his dedication to the project.  Jacob did both the camera work and editing fo the movie. I know how long it takes to edit video Jacob, and you have done such a great job with the effects.

Here is their final product!

So at the beginning of term 2 room one conducted a statistics investigation to find out what types of playground equipment were most preferred by senior students.

In order to find out what seniors preferred the most we asked them to vote on  their top 10 playground activities.

We have made a bar graph of our findings.

The top 6 were (in order of higest vote to lowest):

Welcome back to term 2!

This term we are going to begin using out blog every day as part of our reading and writing programme.

Each week, one group will work on a variety of tasks designed to improve their oral language (speaking), writing and reading skills.

DAY 1
Students will be reading and commenting on others blogs both in the school, and further afield. (Reading and writing).

DAY 2
Students will be reading either an original piece of work, or one by an established author.  They will practice reading the piece several times to improve their spoken language skills and then record the presentation using Vacaroo an online recording tool. (Reading and spoken language).

DAY 3
Students will be asked to do some background reading on a weekly topic and then post a comment on this on 'Wall wisher'.  Parents can also add comments to this as well. (Reading and writing).

DAY 4
Students will take a photo that demonstrates some aspect of learning in our classroom and write about it. (Visual language and writing).

You can look forward to seeing comments, original artworks, writing and much more on our blog.

Parents, you comments are welcome.

Blog Evaluation

How can we create the best blog for us?

That's the question we are going to be researching in our reading time this week.

Use the links on the right to find out what other classes are blogging about, evaluate a couple of them, and be ready to report back your findings next week in reading groups.

Happy blog spotting!
